POINT SYSTEM
How fantasy points turn tournament results into league standings.
1. Placement base points
Every player earns a base score from their final placement at an eligible event.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT
Automatically scored tournaments are completed, offline Super Smash Bros. Ultimate singles events from start.gg with 128 or more entrants. Online events are not counted.
| Placement | Base points |
|---|---|
| 1st | 100 |
| 2nd | 75 |
| 3rd | 60 |
| 4th | 50 |
| 5th – 6th | 40 |
| 7th – 8th | 30 |
| 9th – 12th | 20 |
| 13th – 16th | 12 |
| 17th – 24th | 8 |
| 25th – 32nd | 5 |
| 33rd – 48th | 3 |
| 49th – 64th | 1 |
2. Tournament tier multipliers
Bigger events multiply the base points. The tier is set when the tournament is added to the league schedule.
| Tier | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| S+ | ×1.5 |
| S | ×1.25 |
| A+ | ×1.1 |
| A / B / C | ×1.0 |
3. Player fantasy points
A player’s fantasy total is the sum of every scored result:
Player points = Σ (placement base × tier multiplier)
- Only tournaments tracked by Smash Fantasy count.
- Each result is counted once — duplicate placements are not stacked.
- Historical points are visible on the Top 150 page for draft research.
4. Team / roster scoring
Your team score is the sum of fantasy points earned by every player on your roster.
Team score = Σ roster player points
- All teams start at 0 points when a draft or redraft ends.
- Only tournament results added after the draft count toward the league.
- A team keeps the points a player earned while in its starting roster, even after that player is benched or dropped.
- Bench players score nothing. If a league has a bench, those extra picks are drafted in the final rounds and earn no team points while benched — swap a bench player into the starting roster at any time and they score from that moment on.
- The team with the highest total at the end of the season wins.
Example
A player finishes 3rd at an S-tier major. Their fantasy points for that event are:
60 × 1.25 = 75
